Dispute Between Families Results In Fairfield Shooting

FAIRFIELD, AL — A shooting Sunday afternoon in Fairfield resulted in two victims transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. Sunday.

A report by the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said deputies responded to the 500 block of Osceola Circle in Fairfield to investigate a disturbance and found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg and a 28-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her chest.

Deputy Chief David Agee with the JCSO said the shooting appears to be the result of an argument and fight between families. "Detectives are questioning everyone involved in this offense," Agee said. "No arrest have been made at this time."

Agee said Both shooting victims are expected to survive.
