Domestic Violence Suspect Captured In Birmingham

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has a man in custody who had been the suspect in a domestic violence case.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A man who law enforcement had sought for the last few days as a suspect in a domestic violence case has now been captured and is in custody with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

At approximately 6 a.m., deputies received notification that wanted subject, 37 year old, Michael Ray Mullins was at a business in the 5300 block of 1st Avenue North in Birmingham. Deputies went to the location and were able to take Mullins into custody without incident.

Mullins was taken to the Jefferson County Jail and is being held on charges of domestic violence by strangulation, three counts of third-degree domestic violence, resisting arrest and attempting to elude law enforcement officers. His bonds total $61,600.
