Drive-By Shooting In West Birmingham Leaves One Man Dead

A shooting Tuesday night on Pearson Avenue has left one victim dead.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A drive-by shooting in west Birmingham Tuesday night has left one victim dead. The Birmingham Police Department is currently investigating the incident. The victim was identified Wednesday morning as 37-year-old Robert Atkins.

A report by Alabama Media Group said the incident happened around 10 p.m. at the Wages Event Center in the 2700 block of Pearson Avenue. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso, and first responders transported the man to UAB Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Later in the night, officers found another man who was shot in the same incident. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
