The week of February 4-9 included some huge news locally that had some national implications.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - It has been more than two months since the death of EJ Bradford at the hands of a Hoover police officer, and headlines from this past week were full of significant news surrounding Bradford's death, as Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall ruled the Hoover police officer was justified in shooting and killing Bradford Thanksgiving night at the Galleria mall.

Since the ruling, the NAACP and local civil rights activists have been vocal about their criticism of Marshall and the manner in which he went about coming to his conclusion on the case. That was just one of the stories that made headlines during the past week.

EJ BRadford Case Under Review By US Attorney's Office

Civil rights activists from all over the country have taken interest in the shooting death of Emantic "EJ" Bradford at the hands of a Hoover police officer. This week, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall said the officer was justified in shooting Bradford Thanksgiving night at the Galleria mall. As activists have demanded federal involvement all week, federal officials say they have actually been involved all along.

Birmingham Iron Kicks Off Season, With Win Over Memphis

The Alliance of American Football began its inaugural season this weekend, and Birmingham's team in the upstart league started in impressive fashion as the Birmingham Iron shut out the Memphis Express 26-0.

A teen who has been reported missing from her Fairfax, Va., home for more than two weeks could possibly be in the Vestavia Hills area, according to the Vestavia Hills Police Department. Monica Ivey, 16, was last seen by her family January 16.

FedEx Driver Finds Dead Body In Jefferson County

A FedEx driver discovered a dead body Wednesday afternoon just inside the Lipscomb city limits. Lipscomb Police Chief Mareshah Moses said the body was covered with two garbage bags.
