Ensley Shooting Death Ruled Justifiable
A June 26 homicide in Ensley has been ruled justifiable by the Birmingham Police Department.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The investigation into a homicide in Ensley June 26 has determined that the shooting death of Stephone Lamar Jemison was justifiable. The incident occurred on Avenue Z just before 11 p.m. June 26.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said a verbal argument took place prior to Jemison being shot, and that the shooting was in self defense.
Jemison was found in a home on Avenue Z with gunshot wounds and was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Jemison's death is the 12th homicide ruled justifiable by the Birmingham Police Department in 2020.
