Fairfield Drive-By Shooting Claims Life Of 23-Year-Old Man

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 23-year-old father has been identified as the victim in a fatal drive-by shooting in Fairfield. The victim, Ronnie Deandre Weaver, was gunned down Sunday night just outside the front door of a Fairfield convenience store.

A report by Alabama Media Group said Weaver was killed shortly before 9:30 p.m. at Citgo at the intersection of Valley Road and Gary Avenue in Fairfield. The shooting happened at 9:22 p.m. and Weaver was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:33 p.m.

Store employees reported that Weaver had been at business about 30 minutes earlier putting gas in his car. He left, and then returned. As he was walking into the store, a vehicle drove by and opened fire. At least a dozen or more shots were fired.
