Fairfield Traffic Stop Nets Seizure Of Drugs, Guns

Three men were arrested and several pounds of drugs were seized in Fairfield by the Jefferson County Sheriff's office.

FAIRFIELD, AL — Three men were arrested Saturday and several pounds of illegal drugs were seized in a traffic stop in Fairfield by the Jefferson County Sheriff's office. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies seized approximately three pounds of marijuana, 16 ounces of Promethazine syrup, five handguns, and $10,340 in cash.

The following subjects were arrested during the traffic stop, charged, and transported to The Jefferson County Jail:

Billy Williams III was charged with trafficking marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a pistol without a license. Williams also had outstanding warrants for unlawful possession of marijuana 1, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving while license suspended, obstructing justice, carrying a pistol without a licence, and improper lane change.

Charles Young was charged with trafficking marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rodney Gildersleeve Jr. was charged with trafficking marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
