Family Dog Rescued From Fultondale Tornado Debris
A Fultondale family whose home was destroyed by Monday night's tornado received great news when their dog was found alive amid the debris.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Amid the devastation left in the wake of Monday night's tornado in Jefferson County, one Fultondale family did find a positive moment Tuesday when rescuers located their dog alive under the debris left behind by the storm.
A WSB-TV report said the Williams family rode out the storm in a shelter as their home was destroyed, and were luckily able to locate Smokey, the family dog, trapped under debris in what was left of the family's basement.
Jason Williams told WSB-TV that Smokey had spent hours trapped under the rubble.

“I’m just so proud that Smokey is OK," Williams told WSB-TV. "One of my daughters had some guinea pigs and the other one had a turtle. and I can’t find them. I just found part of the guinea pig cage."
