Fatal Shooting In Fairfield Under Investigation
A man was shot and killed in Fairfield Friday, and investigators have yet to establish a motive in the shooting.

FAIRFIELD, AL — A man was shot and killed Friday in Fairfield, an incident that occurred just after 10 p.m. in the 4100 block of Lloyd Noland Parkway.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said deputies found a white Dodge Avenger occupied by a 29-year-old male driver and a 26-year-old female passenger. The male victim had been struck by the gunfire and was deceased, Money said.
According to witnesses, the victim’s vehicle was traveling on Lloyd Noland Parkway when a white Tahoe or Yukon style SUV with a sunroof began following them. The passenger in the SUV began firing at the victims, and the driver was struck, Money said.

Money said the motive for the shooting is unknown. Anyone who may have information on this shooting is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-5700.
