Fountain Heights Shooting: 2 Victims Hospitalized

A shooting in a north Birmingham neighborhood wounded two victims Tuesday morning.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A shooting in the north Birmingham neighborhood of Fountain Heights left two victims wounded and transported to the hospital. The incident occurred just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at 12th Street North and 12th Avenue North.

Two men were transported to UAB Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

A report by Alabama Media Group said neighbors reported hearing arguing at the apartment building Monday night and again earlier Tuesday. They reported hearing four to five shots fired Tuesday morning.

Police said the shots were fired inside a second-floor unit in a small apartment building. Both victims were brought outside for treatment before being taken to UAB.

The Alabama Media Group reports said a third gunshot victim showed up at Princeton Baptist Medical Center, and police are investigating to determine whether he is a suspect in this shooting.
