Gas-Related Fire At Downtown Building: Birmingham Fire & Rescue

Birmingham Fire & Rescue is working a natural gas-related fire at the American Life building downtown.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham Fire & Rescue crews are working a fire downtown at the old American Life Building. Officials say the fire is related to a natural gas leak.

The public is asked to stay clear of the scene at 2308 4th Avenue North, but no evacuations have been ordered. Birmingham Fire Battallion Chief Sebastian Carrillo said Spire is on the scene and the situation is under control.
