Grayson Valley Man Charged With Shooting Into Vehicle

A 19-year-old who was originally thought to be a shooting victim has now been charged with a shooting.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Initially thought to be a victim in a shooting incident that occurred last month, 19-year-old Javion David Gray has been charged with shooting into a vehicle on Streetman Circle August 29. He was arrested at his home yesterday afternoon.

On August 29, deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the 2600 block of Streetman Circle. They arrived to find an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The shooter fled the scene but suspects were located by patrol deputies a short distance away and were taken into custody for questioning.

Gray reported that he had been outside his residence when a car occupied by three men pulled up and one of the men began shooting at him. He was struck by bullets as he ran back to his home. Detectives investigating the case learned that Gray had an ongoing feud with the man. When the car pulled up in front of the house Gray began shooting at it. The man returned fire striking Gray. The car left the scene and was located a short distance away by deputies. Evidence at collected at the scene indicated that Gray had indeed fired shots at the car.

When asked about the evidence that he had shot at the car first, Gray said he no longer wished for the case to be investigated and would no longer cooperate with any investigative measures.
