Gunfire In West Birmingham: 3 Injured
An investigation is underway after three people were shot Tuesday afternoon in Ensley.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Gunfire broke out in a west Birmingham neighborhood and resulted in three people injured. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon just after 4 p.m.
Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department said West Precinct officers responded about 4:30 p.m. after a Shot Spotter call signaled shots fired in the area. While they were en route, they received another call that a male had been shot in the arm near the same location.
Two of the victims showed up at Baptist Princeton Medical Center by private vehicle. Those victims are said to have injuries that are not life-threatening. A third victim was found in the 3900 block of Court K where police said he showed up on a woman’s front porch asking for help. That victim was taken to UAB Hospital, and his condition is not known at this time.
