Help UAB Fight Coronavirus Pandemic With Support For Giving Tuesday Now On May 5

The University of Alabama at Birmingham needs your help on Tuesday, May 5, for Giving Tuesday Now, an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

Donations for the global day of giving and unity may be made on the Giving Tuesday Now website, uab.edu/givingtuesdaynow. UAB asks donors to support any of its funds:

  • UAB Coronavirus Response Support Fund: For COVID-19 research and treatment development; patient and clinical care support; resources, including supplies, equipment and technology; training and education for frontline responders; and other needs associated with relief, response and treatment.
  • UAB Student COVID-19 Emergency Fund: Provides emergency aid to students in all colleges and schools facing lost wages, relocation expenses, decrease in financial support from parents and more.
  • Benevolent Fund: Assists UAB faculty and staff in need, including those affected by the pandemic, through Blazer Kitchen and emergency aid.
  • UAB Medicine COVID-19 Materials Fund: Supports the purchase of personal protection equipment for frontline workers.
  • COVID-19 Symptom Tracker: Supports the growth and expansion of disease data collection and management across the Southeast through the COVID-19 Symptom Tracker website, as well as future efforts to connect with ground-based collection in affected communities.
