High School eSports Championship Coming To Birmingham

The Alabama High School Athletic Association will gold the first esports championship in Birmingham Saturday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A new eSports complex in Birmingham opens this weekend, and with that opening comes the state's first eSports high school championship. A Birmingham Business Journal report said the 18,000-square-foot Magic City ePLEX opens Jan. 31 at the Crestwood Festival Center in Birmingham.

The new ePLEX will host the first-ever Alabama High School Athletic Association eSports State Championship Feb. 1.
