High school football season begins in Alabama Thursday and continues through the weekend. Keep up with all the scores on Patch.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — High School football kicks off this week in Alabama, with two local matchups on Thursday, and games continiung through Saturday.
Homewood lost to Hueytown Thursday night in 6A action, Shades Valley topped Clay County and Hayden dropped its opener to Springville.
Friday, a huge slate of games is on the schedule, including Hewitt-Trussville taking on defending 6A champion Pinson Valley and Hoover taking on defending 7A champ Central-Phenix City. As well, Huffman plays Bessemer City, Mountain Brook hosts Northridge, Spain Park plays Hillcrest and Oak Mountain faces Chelsea.

Saturday's games include a local battle between Minor and Ramsay, Clay-Chalkville faces Dothan, and Thompson will take on Davidson.
