Homicide At Ensley Night Club Under Investigation

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A shooting at the Crown Lounge in Ensley Saturday morning claimed the life of a 34-year-old Birmingham man. The incident occurred just before 6 a.m.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said officers arrived to find the victim, Sharod Harrison, lying on the ground in the rear parking lot of the Crown Lounge, located at 517 19th Street. Harrison was wounded by gunfire and was pronounced dead on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.

Mauldin said a preliminary investigation suggests that an altercation occurred at the lounge before the shooting. Mauldin said multiple people have been detained in connection with the shooting.
