Homicide In West Birmingham Under Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Monday night in west Birmingham.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A deadly shooting in west Birmingham Monday night is under investigation by the Birmingham Police Department. The incident occurred in the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 12th Street West.
Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham PD said a call came in just before 9 p.m. regarding the shooting, and officers arrived to find an adult male subject in the driver’s seat of a van suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived along with the Jefferson County Coroner and pronounced the subject deceased on the scene.
The victim's name has not been released, and there are no suspects. in custody.
