How Trump And Biden Fared In Alabama Counties

Donald Trump won Alabama handily Tuesday, but did he win in every county? See which counties had the most support for the president.

MONTGOMERY, AL — Alabama was certainly not one of the states election experts saw in doubt for President Donald Trump heading into Tuesday's election, and the president's 1.4 million votes in Alabama to Joe Biden's 830,000 solidified that support for Trump.

So, did former vice president Joe Biden win any of Alabama counties? A report from Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill shows Biden did better in some counties than others.

Although numbers presented by Merill Thursday are unofficial until the election is certified Nov. 23, the current numbers show Alabama ranks eighth nationwide in support for Trump. The breakdown by states:

  1. Wyoming (70.4%)
  2. West Virginia (68.7%)
  3. North Dakota (65.5%)
  4. Oklahoma (65.4%)
  5. Idaho (63.9%)
  6. Arkansas (62.6%)
  7. Kentucky (62.6%)
  8. Alabama (62.5%)

The counties in Alabama that Trump won by the largest margin:

  1. Winston (90.37%)
  2. Cleburne (89.76%)
  3. Blount (89.57%)
  4. Marion (88.42%)
  5. Cullman (88.15%)

The counties Biden won by the largest margin:

  1. Macon (81.45%)
  2. Greene (81.32%)
  3. Bullock (74.71%)
  4. Perry (73.81%)

"While many states across the country are still processing mail-in and absentee ballots, all of Alabama’s 67 counties were reporting election results on election night,” Merrill said. "The time, effort, and preparation that Alabama’s election officials put into making Tuesday’s election a success are commendable, and I am thankful for their collaboration and commitment.”
