Ice Cube's 'BIG3' Basketball League Comes To Birmingham

Ice Cube's BIG3, a 3-on-3 basketball league featuring former NBA stars, makes its debut in the Magic City July 6 at the BJCC.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Birmingham will host an arena full of former NBA stars Saturday, as the BIG3, a 3-on-3 basketball league started by musician and actor Ice Cube in 2017, comes to the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. Birmingham is one of 14 cities to host the league's games this season.

The league has an 11-week season, which began in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena on June 22 and culminates in the championship game on Sept. 1 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The 12-team league includes coaches such as Michael Cooper, Gary Payton, Nate Archibald, Rick Mahorn, Rick Barry, George Gervin and Charles Oakley.

Retired NBA stars that are in the league include big names like Baron Davis, Lamar Odum, DermArr Johnson, Will Bynum, Carlos Boozer, Glen Davis, Jermaine O'Neal, Nate Robinson and Amar'e Stoudemire.

Tickets for the games can be purchased here. Tip-off is at 5 p.m.
