Inmate Found Deceased In His Bed At Birmingham County Jail
On Saturday, Feb. 15, at approximately 6:06 a.m. Jefferson County deputies found a 28-year-old white male inmate unresponsive in his bed.

On Saturday, Feb. 15, at approximately 6:06 a.m. Jefferson County deputies found a 28-year-old white male inmate unresponsive in his bed at the Birmingham County Jail. Deputies were alerted when the inmate failed to get up for morning headcount. Deputies called for jail medical personnel and attempts were made to revive the inmate. The inmate could not be revived. There were no signs of any physical injury and the man had been in a cell by himself all night. This death appears to be health related. The inmates body was transported to the Jefferson County Coroners Office for examination.
