Irondale Sam's Club Set To Close Doors
The Sam's Club location in Irondale, which has been in business for 30 years, will close permanently January 26.

IRONDALE, AL - The Sam's Club location in Irondale, which has been in operation for three decades, will close its doors permanently on January 26. A notice by the store that was posted on social media by the City of Irondale states that the entire facility will close to the public on the 26th, and all hourly employees will be terminated March 16, and all management employees will be terminated April 13.
There are 136 employees at the Irondale store, located at 3900 Grants Mill Road. The closing is part of a company-wide initiative it says will better serve its customers based on location of stores. The company issued a statement on Twitter in response to people upset about sudden closings of Sam's Club stores:
After a thorough review of our existing portfolio, we’ve decided to close a series of clubs and better align our locations with our strategy. Closing clubs is never easy and we’re committed to working with impacted members and associates through this transition.
