Jefferson County BOE Names Teachers Of The Year

The Jefferson County Board of Education honored their 2019-2020 Teachers of the Year.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Jefferson County Board of Education honored the Teachers of the Year for each of the system's schools. These teachers have been selected by their school to represent them as their Teacher of the Year as well as serve on the Jefferson County Schools Superintendent's Teacher Advisory Council.

The Jefferson County Schools Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council exists to promote and support four core components of professionalism: advocacy, communication, leadership, and outreach.

The council offers a bridge between the Jefferson County Schools superintendent and JEFCOED teachers, providing a direct avenue of communication and a systematic way to leverage teacher leadership with the goal of improving student achievement throughout the district. The council will provide its members with valuable school district information and a forum to discuss challenges, issues, questions and celebrations from the perspectives of all feeder patterns throughout the school district.
