Jefferson County Confirms More Than 400 New Coronavirus Cases

For the second time in the last seven days, Jefferson County reported more than 400 new coronavirus cases in a 24-hour span.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — For the second time in the last week, Jefferson County confirmed more than 400 new COVID-19 cases over a 24-hour span Thursday, part of 1,838 reported new cases of the virus statewide.

Jefferson County reported 405 new cases Thursday, which is the county'd second highest daily total since the Pandemic began in March. The 451 cases reported in the county Nov. 13 was the highest.

Since the beginning of the month, Jefferson and surrounding counties have seen a massive surge in new cases and in deaths from the virus.

Over the last week, the new case totals in Jefferson County:

  • Nov. 13: 451 new cases
  • Nov. 14: 315 new cases
  • Nov. 15: 305 new cases
  • Nov. 16: 256 new cases
  • Nov. 17: 280 new cases
  • Nov. 18: 361 new cases
  • Nov. 19: 405 new cases
