Jefferson County Man Charged With 3 Counts Of Sexual Abuse

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A 42-year-old Jefferson County man has been charged with three counts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. Khriston Leon Smith was arrested on August 27.

An investigation began in early August after the victims disclosed what had occurred to trusted adults. Sheriff’s detectives found evidence indicating that there were three victims of this abuse, which the JCSO said occurred over a two-year period of time in the eastern Jefferson County area.

Smith is being held on bonds totaling $300,000.
