Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Investigating Shooting Death

A man called in a report to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office that he has shot a man after an altercation.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Jefferson County Sheriff’s detectives are conducting a death investigation in a remote area near the 4100 block of Valley Ford Road in the Adger community.

Just after 10:30 Sunday morning, a male caller reported that he had been in an altercation with a man he knows and had shot and killed him. Deputies met the caller at Johns Road and Valley Ford Road. He took them to where the altercation occurred. The scene is a gas well area a mile off the main road. Once there, deputies discovered an adult male victim dead on the scene.
