HUEYTOWN, AL - A Jefferson County worker was clearing a downed tree in Hueytown early Sunday morning when he was struck by a vehicle. The worker was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Heavy storms over the weekend caused a bevy of trees in the area to fall on roadways, and this particular worker was reportedly cutting up a tree on 15th Street near Hueytown just after 2 a.m. Sunday when he was struck. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was cooperative with authorities.
