Lawsuit Accuses Birmingham Water Works Of Faulty Billing

A new lawsuit claims the Birmingham Water Works Board is improperly reading some homeowners meters and charging them too much money.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A lawsuit has been filed against the Birmingham Water Works Board claiming inaccurate billing to customers. Gardendale attorney Scott Morro filed the lawsuit and is one of the plaintiffs.

A report by WBRC said plaintiffs have claimed that the BWWB is charging them more than what they have used, even though their usage has not changed from one month to another.

One plaintiff told WBRC that he was getting water bills that varied from one month to the next. She said her bills have doubled regardless of her usage.
