Legendary Record Store In 5 Points South To Close
A staple in the Birmingham retail community since 1977 announced it will close by the end of the year.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — After decades as one of Birmingham's premier locations to buy music, Charlemagne Record Exchange in Birmingham will close. A Birmingham Business Journal report said the store, located in 5 Points South since 1977 could not afford the rent increase at the current location.
A Facebook message by the store posted Sunday said, "Endings are sad but after almost 43(!) years in the music business it's time to say goodbye and thank you for all the wonderful memories. As George Harrison said 'All Things Must Pass.'"
The business also announced that everything in the store will be 50 percent off from now until the store closes for good at the end of the month.
