Lil Baby Concert Halted After Shots Fired
An assault investigation is underway after shots were fired during a concert in Birmingham Saturday.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A concert in Birmingham Saturday night was halted when shots were fired, police said. The concert, headlined by rap artists Lil Baby was held at Bill Harris Arena at 2337 Bessemer Road.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said at approximately 10:20 p.m. during Lil Baby’s stage performance, a physical altercation ensued among promoters and entourage members in the backstage area of the arena.
The physical altercation escalated resulting in one person being shot, Mauldin said. The victim was transported to UAB Hospital with life threatening injuries. The victim’s condition has since been updated to stable.

Mauldin said additional officers responded to the scene and order was restored without further incident. During the course of events, there were no injuries to any concert patrons or citizens in the general vicinity of the Bill Harris arena.
