There were no injuries in the traffic accident involving a car and a school bus, but the man driving the car was arrested.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A man driving a car that collided with a school bus Thursday afternoon was arrested when the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office discovered he had outstanding warrants. No injuries were reported in the traffic accident.

A report by the Jefferson Coutny Sheriff's Office said at 3:28 pm a call came in stating that a vehicle had struck a school bus. Deputies responded to the intersection of Tate Mill Road and Warrior Jasper Road and determined that the accident happened when a motorist failed to yield to a stopped school bus, and rear ended the bus.

Responding deputies assisted the children as they unloaded from the school bus. The bus driver stated that he was completely stopped with his warning lights activated. Children were beginning to exit the bus at their stop, when the motorist in the other vehicle, Kendall Cork, did not attempt to stop at all and collided with the bus. Cork was found to have an outstanding felony warrant with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
