Man Dies After Fleeing Traffic Stop In Tarrant
A man is dead after crashing his vehicle while fleeing police in Tarrant.

TARRANT, AL —A man who crashed his vehicle while fleeing police in Tarrant Thursday has died. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Anthony Terrane Gardner. He was 31 and lived in east Birmingham.
The crash happened about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Tarrant police were in pursuit of Gardner for running a red light. During the pursuit Gardner reportedly ran another red light – that one at Vanderbilt Road and Jefferson Avenue. It was then his Nissan Altima was struck by a Ford F-150pickup truck, according to an Alabama Media Group report.
Gardner was taken to UAB Hospital’s Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m. Two people inside the truck were also injured.
