Man Dies In Crash On Highway 78 In Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — One man is dead after a wreck on Highway 78 in Forestdale Saturday. Investigators say one of the drivers involved in the wreck fled the scene on foot before deputies arrived.

Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the wreck occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday on Highway 78 near the intersection of Grandview Drive. Agee said the victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and transported to the hospital where he later died.

The driver of the second vehicle has not been found, according to investigators.
