Man Fatally Shot In Birmingham Home

A man was found in a chair in his home in southwest Birmingham dead from a gunshot wound.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A man was found dead Monday morning in his home in southwest Birmingham, apparently thee victim of a shooting. The 55-year-old man was found sitting in his chair in his bedroom after co-workers at an Alabaster trucking company reported he failed to show up for work Monday morning.

According to a report from Alabama Media Group, the man lived on 17th Street S.W. and was discovered by his brother and a co-worker at approximately 10:00 a.m. Birmingham police officers say none of the man's neighbors reported hearing gunshots. Police have said they do not know of a motive, and none of the man's family members or acquaintances have indicted there would be a reason anyone would want to kill him.
