Update: Suspect Held In Wife’s Murder
A north Jefferson County man is in custody awaiting formal charges after his wife was found dead at their home.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A north Jefferson County man is in custody awaiting formal charges after his wife was found dead at their home. The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Robin Rae Caudill of Pinson.
Just after 5 a.m. Sunday morning, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the 4000 block of Ruff Road to conduct a death investigation. A man reported that he had found his wife unresponsive on the floor of the bathroom. They arrived to find the 43-year-old female victim dead on the scene.

Information from the scene indicates that the victim had been beaten to death. The husband of the victim remained on scene and was found to have blood on his clothing. He was questioned by detectives, but offered no explanation for the injuries to the victim or the blood found throughout the home.
The husband was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail to await formal charges. His name is withheld pending those charges.
