Man Shot, Crashes Car In Gate City
A man was shot in a shower of gunfire Tuesday night in Gate City, and then crashed his car into a utility pole.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A man was shot Tuesday night during a shower of gunfire in Gate City, and later crashed his car into a utility pole. The person driving the car had been shot in his lower extremities, police said. He was taken to UAB Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A report by Alabama Media Group said officers responded to a call of 30 to 40 shots fired in the area of Interlake Avenue and 66th Street South around 10:15 p.m. While investigating the shots fired, officers said they heard additional shots and saw a vehicle attempting to flee the scene. Officers said they began pursuing the fleeing car, and it crashed into a utility pole on 66th Street South.
