Man Shot In Crestwood Home Mistaken As Intruder
A man was shot by a relative after the homeowner mistook him for a an intruder Wednesday night.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A man was hospitalized Wednesday night after being shot by a relative when that relative mistook him for an intruder at a Crestwood home.
The victim was shot inside a home on the 5600 block of 12th Avenue South around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to a report by Alabama Media Group.
Police say ne of the residents inside the home believed that someone had broken into the residence and was going to harm a family member. The shooting is under investigation, but police say evidence indicates the shooting was accidental.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
