Man Shot, Killed In Birmingham Apartment Complex
A man was killed Monday night in a 44th Street North apartment complex, Birmingham police report.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A man was shot and killed Monday night in Birmingham, the Birmingham Police Department is reporting.
He has been identified as Deonta Pickett, 40, of Birmingham.
On Monday at 10:15 p.m., South Precinct officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on the 1300 block of 44th Street North, to multiple reports of gunfire from that location, according to a department news release.

Officers found Pickett unresponsive and slumped over the driver’s seat of a parked car, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene and pronounced Pickett dead on the scene. An investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
