Man Shot And Killed In Ensley: Police

A homicide in Ensley is under investigation after a man was shot and killed on Avenue P Tuesday morning.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham police are investigating a fatal shooting in Ensley that occurred just after 11 a.m. Tuesday. Police have identified the victim as 20-year-old Nathan Chandler Wooten of Birmingham.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said the shooting occurred in the 3500 block of Avenue P, but added that limited information is available about the shooting.

Wooten was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead. This is the city's 97th homicide investigation of 2020 with 13 justifiable death investigations and 1 non-criminal homicide.
