Man In Wheelchair Shot And Killed In West Birmingham

A 38-year-old man was shot to death Sunday, April 28, at a car detail shop on Bessemer Road in west Birmingham.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A man in a wheelchair was shot and killed inside a west Birmingham car detailing shop Sunday night. The man has been identified as 38-year-old Omari Sharad Pollnitz, who was in a wheelchair due to a previous gunshot wound.

Police responded to shots fired at 6:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Bessemer Road, according to an Alabama Media Group report. Birmingham PD arrived on the scene to find the victim wounded just inside the bay at Nu Vision Auto Detail. Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead on the scene.

Police said no suspects are in custody and no eyewitnesses have come forward.
