Man, Woman Killed in Separate Weekend Homicides In Birmingham

Police are investigating two homicides in Birmingham over the weekend. Victims include a 21-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Two unrelated shootings in Birmingham claimed the lives of two victims over the weekend. Police are investigating the deaths of a 21-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said Marquette Milous Carter of Birmingham was shot in the 900 block of 24th Street North Saturday. He died later at UAB Hospital.

Keanna Shabree Kelley of Gadsden was shot in the 1100 Block of Kawanda Lane. Police have a person in custody in this case, Mauldin said.
