McCalla Teen Charged With Sex Crimes Involving Young Child
Zachary Joseph Hogue, 18, has been charged with multiple sexual offenses involving a young girl.
BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has arrested an 18-year-old suspect from McCalla and charged him with multiple sexual offenses. Zachary Joseph Hogue was arrested March 1 and charged with Sodomy first degree and Sexual Abuse first degree.
In November of 2018, Sheriff’s detectives were notified that a child might be the victim of sexual abuse, according to a report by the JCSO. Detectives reportedly began their investigation and were able to develop evidence that several crimes had been committed.

Detectives were able to obtain warrants for the two offenses and an arrest was made March 1. The victim is safe and no longer in danger, according to David Agee of the JCSO. Hogue made a $30,000 bond for Sodomy and a $30,000 bond for Sexual Abuse.
