Missing Homewood Teen's Vehicle Found In Montgomery

A 19-year-old college student from Homewood was reported missing from the Auburn area Friday.

MONTGOMERY, AL — A 19-year-old student at Southern Union Community College has now been missing for five days. Aniah Haley Blanchard, a Homewood resident, last communicated with a friend late Wednesday night.

Auburn police said in a statement that Blanchard’s vehicle was located at an apartment complex in the 6100 block of Boardwalk Boulevard in Montgomery Friday. Members of the Auburn Police Division, as well as the Montgomery Police Department, responded after receiving notification from a citizen. While the vehicle has been recovered, Blanchard has not been located.

Upon the vehicle's recovery, damage had occurred from the time it was last seen on Wednesday, Oct. 23, just before midnight in Auburn and its recovery in Montgomery on Oct. 25.

Her father and stepmother, Birmingham attorney Yashiba Blanchard, as well as her mother, Angela Harris, and stepfather, UFC Heavyweight fighter Walt Harris, have been pleading for information in their daughter’s disappearance.

The family said the disappearance is not consistent with Aniah's personality, and therefore is unlikely to have stayed missing by her own accord.

Aniah is described as a light-complexioned black female, 5 feet 6-inches tall and about 125 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair and was last seen wearing a black dress and tan duck boots with black stockings.

Anyone with information about Blanchard’s disappearance or how the vehicle was damaged, is asked to call police at 334-501-3140, the anonymous tip line at 334-246-1391 or the 24-hour non-emergency number at 334-501-3100.
