Monday Morning Homicide In Birmingham Under Investigation

BIRMINGHAM, AL -- The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a homicide Monday morning in the 300 block of Aspen Run. Investigators found a victim dead at the scene at approximately 6 a.m.

Officers from the South Precinct responded to a call of a person down and possibly assaulted outside some apartments on Aspen Run. hen officers arrived, they found a black male on the sidewalk, who was pronounced dead on the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner.

There are no suspects in custody, and police have withheld the name of the victim pending notification of his family.
