Murder/Suicide Investigation Under Way In Jefferson County
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating what is being deemed a murder/suicide in the Bagley community.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Jefferson County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a reported murder/suicide in the Bagley Community after a woman was found shot to death Wednesday morning.
Just before 8 a.m. this morning, deputies responded to a report of a man with a gun running along Old Bagley Road. As they were searching for him, they received a report that an adult female had been found shot inside a vehicle at a residence in the 8500 block of Old Bagley Road. Deputies arrived at that location and found a woman dead on the scene.

While on scene, an adult male called into 911 and admitted that he had shot the victim. He gave his location at a residence in the 5000 block of Cindy Lane before disconnecting the call. When deputies arrived they located the male caller inside the home, dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Information was relayed that the couple had just ended a relationship. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the homicide victim as Brandi Michelle Allen. She was 39 and lived at the Old Bagley Road home where she was found dead. Her estranged husband, who authorities say took his own life, was Mark David Allen. He was 43 and lived in the 5000 block of nearby Cindy Lane.
