Narcotics Investigation Results In Seizure Of $415,000 In Drugs

Sheriff's narcotics investigators arrested one man and seized cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and prescription opioids from a Trussville home.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - Over the course of the last several weeks, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives conducted an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs by a specific individual in the northeast part of Jefferson County. Tuesday, investigators arrested one man and seized cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and prescription opioids from a Trussville home as a result of that investigation.

Information gathered during the investigation led to arrest warrants being obtained for 42-year-old Quincy Lamond Coleman of Trussville charging him with three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Based on the information, investigators also obtained a search warrant for his residence on Cahaba Manor Drive in Trussville.

Narcotics investigators and members of the Sheriff’s Warrant Detail went to the home Tuesday morning to arrest Coleman for the warrants and to execute the search warrant. During the search of the residence, deputies discovered four kilograms of cocaine, three ounces of heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone, alprazolam, and marijuana. The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $415,000. Deputies also found two handguns, a shotgun, cash, and digital scales. A Cadillac Escalade and a BMW 750i were seized as proceeds from drug sales.

Coleman was at the residence when deputies arrived and was taken into custody. In addition to the three counts of distribution, he was also charged with trafficking cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains in jail with bond set at $968,000.
