Nearly 23K COVID-19 Cases Confirmed In Alabama In Last 14 Days

As Alabama approaches 70,000 total cases of COVID-19, the state reports that nearly 23,000 of those cases have come in the last two weeks.

MONTGOMERY, AL — The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed close to 23,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the last two weeks, making up a third of the nearly 70,000 total cases of the virus in the state since the pandemic began.

The 22,843 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the state the last 14 days is the highest 2-week total recorded by the ADPH. Thus far, 599,098 COVID-19 tests have been administered in Alabama since March 13, with 169,150 of those taken in the last 14 days. Of the 69,075 positive tests, 29,736 patients are presumed to have recovered from the virus.

The state has confirmed 1,268 COVID-19 deaths so far, having added 11 deaths to its total Tuesday, and 1,563 patients remain hospitalized from the virus in Alabama.

  • Jefferson County: 187 new cases; 9,088 total
  • Mobile County: 129 new cases; 6,279 total
  • Baldwin County: 87 new cases; 2,007 total
  • Madison County: 70 new cases; 3,658 total
  • Montgomery County: 66 new cases; 5,244 total
