  1. A new vibrant piece of art in Avondale is now open for all to see. The mural was designed by a Birmingham native, to showcase part of his hometown. Michael Vizzina, Design Director at FRED Communication by Design said “I take a lot of pride in it, the response to this artwork has been incredible.” The 52-foot tall mural has been painted on the side of Axel Row, a modern apartment building in a historic district.   3. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the 75-year-old man who was initially injured in a multi-vehicle wreck on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022. James Befort of Birmingham died early on Monday morning from his injuries. According to the coroner’s report, the accident happened at the intersection of Oporto Madrid and First Ave North.
