New Documentary Profiles Birmingham Police Killings

"To Live and Die in Alabama" will premiere on FX and Hulu on December 3.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A new documentary set to premiere Friday profiles the fatal shootings of three Birmingham police officers and the execution of one of the men convicted in the killings. "To Live and Die in Alabama" will premiere on FX and Hulu on December 3, according to Al.com.

The documentary looks at the June 17, 2004, killings of Officers Carlos Owen, Harley A. Chisholm III, and Charles R. Bennett at an Ensley drug house, and the execution of Nathaniel Woods. Woods was executed in March of 2020.

The other man convicted in the case is Kerry Spencer, who is awaiting an execution date.
