One Person Dead After Southwest Birmingham Robbery
One victim is dead and two more were injured after a robbery turned into a deadly shooting Sunday morning.
BIRMINGHAM, AL - A robbery attempt in southwest Birmingham early Father's Day morning turned deadly, as one person was shot and killed. Two other gunshot victims were injured and taken to UAB Hospital.
Birmingham police and fire medics were dispatched at 12:05 a.m. to a home in the 2800 block of Thyer Circle, according to an Alabama Media Group report. Once on the scene, they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Birmingham police spokesman Officer Rod Mauldin said information at the scene leads detectives to believe the incident was related to a robbery attempt. Police said they believe the man killed was one of the suspects, but at least one resident was wounded.
